Well Kids, I'm pretty excited!!

It's pretty simple.

I'll try to put it in the vernacular that someone, who shall remain nameless, put it to me.

The last build we did was an attempt to shoot a model rocket to 2500 feet up into the sky.

The result was easily accomplished with the tech and 3rd grader pilot (engine management system) that was already in the car. The stock computer gave me exactly that, and it did a great job.

However, this build is a full on (man I am old) Apollo Moon Shot. I need NASA to be in charge of the propulsion systems going forward. XFI will be my much more programmable, reliable and tunable "NASA".

Ergo, the change.

Well, I spoke with Lou today and we are going back to the original plan to get the car sorted out.

We will hold off on the "wholesale changes", aka XFI, until the new engine is installed, tuned, and running consistently.

I will keep posting as things progress, change and evolve. Parts are at the machine shop and/or on order, so it's sit and wait for now.

It has finally begun!

Got this from Lou yesterday afternoon.......

Started on your block today ground some Valve reliefs in the block to take advantage of the bigger intake valves also opened up drain passages to get oil collecting in the heads a better path to drain.Next the block gets scrubbed with hot soapy water and then the lifter galleries Get a special paint so the oil drains down the block easier back into the crankcase.

It's only day 2 of assembly.......... there will be plenty to share, and plenty of room for those who wish to critique/criticize/complain.

And I understand I'm setting myself up for this........But Lou does have a plan....

All I can say is bring on something comparable and run me when we're all done.......

In the words of the infamous Mean Chicken, "I'll take on all comers".

Win, lose, doesn't matter, in the end, it will be fun. (There is no "Hang Loose" emoji available...)

The extra notch is because the hg is designed to fit both banks. It's a honest mistake that won't hurt a thing.

Someone may try to argue cylinder volume but that would be splitting hairs.

Short block assembled waiting on a distributor/cam sensor drive gear.

Yes, had to use stock bolts on rear main due to fitment issues with the ARP studs.
