What are my turbo/converter options ?

My ta49 is in need of rebuilding (starting to smoke),what are my options for a turbo and converter combo.I am still running the stock D5 but was thinking of upgrading anyway. The motor is stock with basic bolt ons,need your opinions. Thanks,ikle.

i have a fresh pro-torque 10.5 3200 lockup for sale in the parts section.took my 49 to 11.1 and was great on the 62/65 turbo.

It appears you have a good foundation w/your mod's. You just have to decide how fast you want to go. and if there is any trade-offs w/the increase in power. your weak link is going to become the transmission. So don't forget to budget for it. You have CKpeerf. close by and then there is extreme automatics, both are great vendors and I have experience w/both. I blew 2 trans. w/the stock turbo and a TE-60 a year apart, almost to the day. So choose wisely!

Id look into a set of heads if you want to run quicker with less boost.

A friend of mine went 11.69@115 with a TE44 @21 psi with a stretch intercooler and your mods. A bigger turbo isn't going to do anything at low boost.

I would just rebuild the one you have. A kit and 360 thrust is only 160 bucks
