oil and water are going to be in the center console,by the way should i go with electric or mechanical on these two?
otherwise im putting a boost gauge on the pillar but not sure what else.
oh and im planning on getting a sacanmaster.

need feedback guys!

I run VDO Vision series because it looks somewhat OEM and the green glow works in the car. On my pillar I run boost, water and oil. (most important stuff at a glance right?) Then I run a volt and Knock in the console. (the knock gauge light is VERY birght so you don't want it in your eye!! Also run scanmaster on top of the dash console above the speedo..

Only gripe is size of gauges... Even lit up they're kinda small to see while going sideways and watching the road too

In the street car - Boost and EGT on pillar. Oil and Water in console. No knock or tach, use scanmaster on top of dash.

In the race car - Boost and EGT on pillar. GNX dash, speedo, tach, oil, water, volts, fuel. F.A.S.T. for data recording :D !

mechanical vs electrical

In my experience, mechanical guages are more accurate & reliable

I changed all mine from electric to mechanical. My electric were always "iffy".

I like the new Stewart Warners. I have the 2 1/16" oil pressure. The light comes through the numbers instead of around the gauge face. they are much easier to read at night, have a fuller sweep, and are much cleaner in my opinion.

I also like the small gradients. 0-100 psi in 2 psi increments!

I run a boost guage, water temp and oil pressure gauge up there. I need to install a knock gauge, but I would rather have something audible over somthing else to take my eyes off of the road.

I have fuel pressure with the boost on the pillar. The fuel pressure is mechanical with an isolator.

The MOST important gauges should be very near your line of sight in the A-pillar.....by MOST important I mean those that may keep you from exploding your engine within a split second of things starting to go wrong...like high boost, excessive knock, or extremely high EGTs.....so thats what I'd want there. Anything else such as water temp, trans temp those can go in the console and glance at those periodically but don't care what they are in the middle of a 1/4 mi pass...either they were good to go at the start or they weren't and you shouldn't have made the pass in the first place.

Currently have from top to bottom in the a-pillar:

Knock (caspers)
Fuel Pressure (elec autometer phantom)
Boost/Vac (VDO)

I'd like to have in the a-pillar:

Knock
Boost
Tach

I'd also like to move the FP guage to the console with oil press and water temp. I'd like to have more guages for oil temp, tranny temp and manifold air temperature.
