What kind of valve covers are these?

Does anyone know what kind of valve covers these are and who makes breathers and/or and oil fill plug to fit them? I got them used in a pile of stuff a local guy was selling. I bought an installation kit from a TR vendor but I can't seem to jam the breather into the RH cover and the hole is too big on the LH cover.

Also, they are considerably taller than stock. Will there be any clearance problems on the RH side w/ the heater box? I don't want to wrestle it into place over the rockers only to find I have to take it back off.

I dont know what brand those are but if those holes are about 1.25" than they are pretty much standard SBC stuff. They should be on the HELP rack at AutoZone or NAPA.

I don't know which is which either. The one in the middle has a little indentation on the top left corner. I assume that that is to clear the heater box and therefore that's the RH cover. However, given the placement of the breather hole, a breather would never fit there (it would hit the heater box).

The hole on the middle cover is 1 1/8"; the hole on the top cover in the pic is 1 1/4". This is looking to be a big hassle. I may just clean up my stock ones and put them back on.

Thanks for the replies.

I could be wrong, but it looks as if the middle ones' breather hole was machined down just enough to allow fitment of the stock twist in style breather. Have you tried installing the stock breather with the silicone gasket onto the middle one yet? I've only seen those covers once, and I believe mikestertwo might be right, they were originally sold by ATR. I've seen those style and the M&A casted styles before in the past.

I actually prefer the older M&A style that TA sells today.

Just my O2s worth.

I ran out to the garage and tried it - the stock silicone gasket and breather won't fit in either one of them. I think I'm just going to toss the stock ones back on. I like the new ones that Champion makes but they're price and I don't really need them with the stock rockers. I was just going for a different look since I had these covers laying around.

Turns out that the middle one is the RH side, but it won't clear the heat shield on the heater box so I can't install them anyway. It's not even close.

I'm going for a set of the new TA low profile. I have the Poston/Champion ones done up like the ATR ones I'd let go for a price if you want to do some horse trading and sell your ATRs to HOW and buy my Poston/Champions.

I have no use for them. They're just collecting dust. What are they worth to you? I'll toss in the breathers and bolts.

Jim

Jim,

At first glance I thought they were the older cast M&A covers, sorry but guess I'll pass on them.

No problem. They're about as useful to you as they are to me ;).

I'll have to see if I can do something creative with them.
