SignUp Now!I used to own a 70 Malibuand if I had a choice between a 69 and 70, my preference would be the 70 Chevelle, because of the interchangeable parts with the 71 and 72 and the fact that the front grill is different from the 71 and 72. The 69 is a one year only vehicle, in that some things will not interchange with other Chevelles (body wise). Also the 70 represents a body style change. Unfortunely, I sold my Malibu about 3 years ago, in search of a 1964 Chevelle. If I had my choice to do another Chevelle project, like Wells, I relly like the 64 Chevelle. I actually sold my rolling chassis to look for a 64 Chevelle. But for the monies I received for my Malibu ($5500, no engine or trans), I could not get a nice enough 64 Chevelle (or Malibu) to replace my 70 Malibu. I'm sure that now that I'm not looking, they're all over the place. I most recently replace my Malibu with a 1955 Chevrolet 3200 pickup truck. The draw to the pickup truck was the same as the Chevelle, I wanted a first year vehicle. The first production year for Chevelle was 64 and so it was for the 55 2nd series Chevrolet pickups (kind of like the mid year 1970 Camaro)
"84Regal3.8", I looked closely at the '71-'72 back up light lenses in the pictures you posted and wonder which one is correct?...Could it be possible that one of them is an aftermarket replacement lens?...or that one of them has been replaced with a '72 lens?
