when making a plenum gasket

how exact do i need to be ? as far as any gasket maybe hanging over , both inside and out.. i don't have a hole punch so what could i use to make the same size hole ??. i already wrecked 3 of them so i got 2 more tries on the roll.. it's harder than one would think(at least for me).. it sucks that you can't find a plenum gasket any where.. thanks

Full Throttle speed will send you a gasket in an envolope. They have done it for me before.

Almost every vendor has them. GBodyParts just ordered 100 from me. Pete Hoffman at Kirban's has plenty. Cottons has them. If you really can't find any, let me know.

well i called kirbans and the lady said they were out.. cottons said the same, but the guy on the phone said they were out also, but make your own he said they did it at the race track and it lasted well over a year. and i checked full throttle and did'nt see them listed, checked a few others , plus some one here said make your own so that's what i'm tring to do.. some one also said just use rtv and make a thin bead all the way around.

If you want to make your own tape the material to plenum so it doesn't slide around and then take a ball peen hammer and tap the rounded end against the edges...the edge of the plenum will cut the material to fit.

rtv silicone has always worked on the plenum for me as well

I've done this before with excellent result. The gasket lasted years.
