I need a new cat-back system but I have only had the car for 2 weeks and I don't know much about the different ones. Of course I know ATR makes good stuff, but is their aluminized kit really worth $495 when I can get Hooker for $197 or Flowmaster for $249??? And if I chose stainless it would be $595 for an ATR kit! Is it just me or is that too much to spend on a cat-back? What do you guys reccommend for my bone stock car, with future mods being: cold air kit, fuel pump, LT1 MAF, thrasher chip, 160 thermostat, and suspension work....

I would recommend getting the Hooker setup. The stainless setups are very nice, but as you said, very expensive. Many TR's are using the Hooker exhaust & are more than satisfied.:)

Going that route will also help you financially in that you will have more funds to get yourself a scan tool & a fuel pump. I wouldn't bother buying anything else until the three above are purchased.

Good luck friend.:)

I'm running the ATR dual 3" stainless system. It's pricey, but worth it. Whatever you do don't get Flowmasters.

I second that, don't get the flowmaster system. Its only 2 1/4", and it corrodes easily. I have the ATR 3" crossflow, about $500, but nice. The single shot is nice for about $400, I think Cottons might have one cheaper. If you want to hear mine stop by sometime, its kinda loud as far as TR's go. Good luck. BTW, we are going up to Festival foods again tonight, in Savoy, just hanging out. Good time, nothin' else to do here. See ya!
