I met a mid 80's Corvette at the stoplight tonight and he yelled over to me to show me what I could do. He got me off the line but in short time I had him by a several lengths.

Does anyone encounter this?

when that happens i just simply tell them to get a car that's worth it and give them the thumbs down:cool:

Had a 2005 Corvette try to race me. He followed me about a mile from the freeway off ramp to my apartments. Said he can hear my turbo spool up several cars behind. While I was getting out the car he asked me if it was a real GN because if it was he smoked several of them off the line. I told him he couldnt keep up with me and he respected that. :p
Had several encounters with the usual tricked out asian cars. Little rev to spool up the turbo and they wait a couple seconds to go after light turns green.
Had several guys give me the thumbs up as well as other friendly gestures.
I try not to get myself into too much trouble. Most of the time I'll see a street/muscle car and just keep on looking straight, unless somehow they grab my attention.

Yep,I think people get a kick out of seeing the car go. I am the same way when I see an AMG Benz or any other sports edition of a car. Nice to see them wack the throttle and show off a little. As for being challanged, I get the non-supercharged Cobalts and Ford Explorers that want to race at the light.

I love egging people on with fast cars, I know for a fact they can beat my Nissan but I want to hear there cars humming at WOT, most of the stuck up rich snobs with fast cars dont even get on it, what a waste:rolleyes:.

Every friggin' day, two lanes into one no matter how dangerous, highway zig zaggers when I'm driving 70 in the middle lane with the cruise on, SUV retards, old ladies, kids in anything that revs. to 5K and sounds like an old Singer sewing machine.

My favorites are stop lights when they don't see the cop hangin on the side of the road less than a block away, one good rev. and then let them hang themselves.

That one is always good for a laugh once a year or so. :p

0 - ten over the speed limit I usually win when trying.

Oh and the best is during a driving rain or just after a snow storm when the roads are bad.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that you could be runnen up against a 15 second stocker or 9 second street car. That intrigues people.

I've run into it a few times...but it's never a car that's worth the gas it takes to stomp on it...lol I just look and laugh. They must think the car can't be fast...afterall, it's only a girl driving it. Ah, silly boys.

LMAO wifh I had a buick to do it in!

I only get the usual question asking if I want a tetnus shot for my rusty truck.

funny mrs fast nasty, from your sig you do have a nasty car, bet alot of guys hate being beat by you. i get it all the time though just like most of us. from the ricers to the guy at the oreilly's with a ssz28 that supposedly runs 6's at an 1/8th and harped on me for not running him one day i was next to him at a light. i've had a few TA's and Z's get the jump on me as i'm still playing with spooling the turbo. after that cracked piston i don't get on it at the light. now from a 30 mph run i may see if you got anything worth messing with but it has to be something worth the gas and only a short distance with a clear sight of the road, it being straight and no way for someone to pull infront of us just in case. i don't mind a short run here and there but normally i shut it down before it hits 70 or more. I anjoy the thumbs up and people taking pics and stopping me and asking ?'s. the ones i don't are the people who look at me wondering if i'm an easy mark to knock over to take my car. "feeling lucky punk "
