Hey guys...thanks for the support, and the "lecturing". Look...if I thought that I actually had a "product" that I would be able to make an income with I wouldn't have started with a simple post on here. I would have went the correct route, after all...I am a business manager and have been "wheeling and dealing" since I was 15.
I simply wanted to gain some input to see if there were any WE-4 owners who had the same thoughts as I in making a GNX style badge. I have always wanted to do this and I finally put some creative initiative into making it. I thought "maybe I'll get half a dozen or so interested and make a few bucks" NOT AN INCOME of any sort. Income is continuis right? Selling off some stuff like everyone does on here in the "for sale" section isn't really an income for most of us. It's just getting rid parts to make some money.
I've bought everyone for my Buick here and been a member since around '01 with my older name that I lost (VETKILR). I know a few personally here and made online friends with a few. Never did I want to stir up anything here. I just read posts and learn how to work on my car myself. Sorry guys....But I'm going to the other web forum. Thanks for the support and anyone can PM me about the emblems. I'm looking for a way to make them better, as close to stock apearing as I can.

i dont care what they say, i still would like one of those!

he's a relatively new member, but a name that everyone knows..
just go to the Lounge and click on the thread with the most pages..
i'm not trying to get anyone in trouble, he's a really nice guy and brings a lot to the TR world- and it can be maybe argued that the TR wouldn't have the following it does without him- but i've always wondered how he got to skate past the "no selling unless you are a paying vendor" rule.

i have to qualify this by saying that while his company is a sponsor around here, it says nothing like that next to his name when he posts- just "senior member". this can give the wrong impression to people that wander in and look around or people that never look in the "supporting vendors" section waaay down at the bottom of the listings.

i'm not gonna name names, but there is a guy with a very long thread in the Lounge section that has been hyping new products that he is going to be selling- and giving away a whole bunch of stuff, as well.
i wonder how much business has been drummed up by that particular thread by a non-supporting vendor? how much free advertisement has he gotten?
does he not have to follow the same rules just because he's been making and selling parts for TR's since they were new?
i'd suggest that the guy that wants to sell the GNx badges hook up with that guy and make a mint..

Who are you referring too? Dennis Kirban? You need to become a little more fimilar with the board and its history before making such statements...

Far as knowing if someone is a vendor or not it is VERY EASY AND SIMPLE! Their USER NAME IS BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the name isn't blue he gots to go...........

I appreciate all the input here... None of it address's the fact that the cost of running the board is mainly supported by the vendors that pay vendor fees... It doesn't run for free... We are spending right at a grand a month JUST on server space...

We don't ask for donations, idea being since the members support the vendors the vendors support the board for the members...

There is nothing personal. It is very hard to set someone up as a vendor for a one time small fee and then never get paid again by that vendor. All that initial setup time and money is gone. Once someone gets established as a vendor he is kinda locked in with the members. Can take back advertising. I try my best to keep fly by night vendors off of here. I have turned downed THOUSANDS but I know that the members would have got the shaft in the long run...

This is not about money for me. I have turned down 6 figures for this board... We do the best we can to provide the best FREE board out there and keep you guys from getting scammed... If you can find a better board I hope you enjoy it:smile: See that car in my sig? NONE OF IT WAS PAID FOR BY THIS BOARD!

I appreciate all the understanding posts and thanks for your support...

If I am thinking of the person you are, his last name matches his company name. Granted I didn't start frequenting the forum daily until 10/2008, but I've never noticed him selling stuff when he wasn't an existing vendor.

It's not uncommon for vendors to have a screen name in blue and it not be the actual company name.

Wait, there are ads on this forum!? Wow. I guess I'm just so used to browsing the internet with my trusty Firefox that I don't notice the lack of vendor ads. I rely more on feedback written by customers.

What a waste. *shrugs*
