I'm getting a new turbo this Spring maybe March most likely April. It's going to have the new Garrett technology in it so thats whats taking so long. I've already bought a stall convertor 2800-3000, 42.5 injectors, and a 20* chip, also an alchohal injection kit. My question is even without having the intake ported will I beable to feel a significant gain in performance? I plan on havng the intake and heads ported next year because I don't have the money right now to do everything.

I have been told that the turbo upgrade is the biggest single upgrade there is for seat of the pants power. I have not yet done mine so I can't tell you from personal experience. I should be very happy once you get it together.

I think you will feel a lot more power with those mods if you are still running the stock turbo. I had my stock heads and stock intake and tb go 12.6 @108.5 and i think i could have want a few tenths faster , so you can go pretty fast with the stock intake.

Do you guys think that the car would run o.k. if I put these parts on before I get the turbo to make the combo complete? I just want the car to be ready for when I get the turbo without having alot of down time being in pieces.

Proceed without worry. Do the chip & injectors together, then the TC, then install/adjust the alcohol kit. Tune/adjust/tune is the name of the game.

Do you have a Scanmaster AND DS or TL? You'll want to get a system to record your combo's data to get your next chip even more on target after your mods.

Then, you'll be getting razor-sharp before your turbo goes on.

You're smart to wait on the GT-series BB units!

HTH :) :) :)

Yes, there is!:) It's based on new Garrett Technology. I don't understand it that much so here is a link that can explain it better. From what I do understand the redesigned compressor wheels will cut down on lag, increase low end torque and requires less exhaust pressure to provide a given level of boost. Don't quate me on this..;)

There is a list of vendors that will be incorparting this into thier turbos. PT&E had a tech meeting a few months ago for the Chicago Chapter and was explaining this. Thats how I found out about it.
Two Lane I have a scanmaster that I bought off a mechanic used so he helps me with figuring this car out most of the time since he has owned 3 in the past and now owns 2 Grand Sports. I also get alot of tips and help from the Chcago Land GS Club.

I've heard people talk that the full potiental of a turbo upgrade won't be felt unless there is considerable porting on the heads and intake. Its been holding be back from upgrading my turbo. I don't have time to break the engine open and have it down for a few weeks getting everything ported.
