Scott

We'll be there Saturday...

;) Laz, Pat, a couple others from S. Fl too. Last I heard Guy Robinson was going too.

I know the Conley's are taking tweated 2 there. He recently ran a 6.80@2?? not to long ago down here in Houston. Should be a run car to watch.

later guys

See you guys this weekend. They have the track really working. A local DR racer did a 1.26 60' last night and Mike Moran went 6.27 yesterday.

Cal, GOOD LUCK with Mikes car and all the others Hartline Perf will have down there!! I wish I could be there to see you guys in action but maybe next year!
I'll be glued to the computer waiting for the DR updates since this year will be a steller year for records to be breaking!!!

'Brick I hope to hear some reports OR if you're going how about getting some kewl launch pics of Dees' car?? I need some good ones for my web site?

Scott's car won't be ready this year. He is stepping the engine up quite a bit, and didn't get it finished in time thanks to Mother Nature (two hurricanes).

I will have 3-4 customers cars running DR this year. Because of this, I won't have time for my own car (not sure I can make the field anyway). I will be tuning on:

Mike Dee's 95 Mustang with a new 106mm turbo on it. We just got a set of M/T 315/60's for it yesterday. I'll be suprised if we get low qualifier again this year, but, if the track is there, we should see some low 8's.

Dave Burgess' 74 Nova with an intercooled F-3 on it. We just fired it up last night for the first time with the new fuel injection on it. I'll be doing some serious time on the dyno with it, as soon as I get back from Vegas

Glen Adam's 93 Mustang with a 101mm turbo on it. I rented the track with it yesterday, and things look promising. Glen is still getting his feet wet, but, I think the car has a mid 8 in it when we turn up the boost.

Come and find us in the pits, all 3 cars are red with "Hartline Performance" stickers on them.

Cal,

I want to wish you good luck this year.
It seems that your competition will be Rick Head.
Good old Dirty Harry has been on a tear!

John: I was with Dirty Harry last night. As consistant as the car is, he really is the guy to beat.

Kevin: I have been meaning to thank you for everything you have done with Mike's suspension. We'll try and get you the pictures you want. With the new 315 Mickey's on the car, you'll probably see a lot more of the underside when he launches :) Look forward to seeing you next year.

They need to do away with all these BS rules, and make it a true drag radial shootout. All they need are two rules:

1) Weight requirement. Don't give a **** what kind of vehicle you own, you must weigh X.

2) Drag radial.

THAT would be fun to watch

Yup I agree that would be fun to watch... Sort of like an Outlaw DR class... Run whatya brung and hope you brung enough!

They had this race last week in Memphis. Rick Head went a 7.76 and BB&T went 7.85---Both on M/T's

Good luck Cal, we were planning on coming down but my work schedule won't let me. I'll have to take vacation in November for Reynolds.

I spoke with Brian the other day and he mentioned that the car wheelies too easily and he was going to try some things but I told him to shorten the IC length instead. I'm sure there is no time to do this now but I told him what to do and that he should verify everything with Spence.
If for ANY reason you guys want to call me over the weekend please do!

What a show!!!! Lots of fast cars showed up. Some big wheel stands in the DR class and a few crashes too. A few DR cars went 7's and the bump on a 32 car field was 8.7 i think. :D Frank

Yeah i saw them run but i can't remember the times??? They were doing very well he went a few rounds. Frank

I was wrong! I was just looking at the results and he didn't qualify??? Thought i saw him in the finals but i guess not. Must have went slower than 7.1 Frank

I was there Sat.; stopped by and talked to LC. I think they only made 2-3 passes due to some clutch problems. I watched their last qualfying attempt; it was a 7.30ish due to getting out of the groove at launch and pedaling. At that point the bump was something like 7.25..very close but no cigar.

I loved seeing all of the cool turbo cars as usual; spent most of the day in the pits. Terry Brown & crew (Big Mike the Human Engine Hoist and others) gave me some education into the workings of their blown alcohol Hemi, and I got to beat on things after he blew the muffler off during qualifying. :)

Cal was a tuning fewl; I'm not sure how Mike Dees ended up doing or if they strapped a brick to the gas pedal or not. ;) The new M/T DRs were on nearly every Drag Radial car there and seem to work amazingly well.

Yeah, it was funny how many mufflers went skidding down the track after being blown off. Outlaw 10.5 #1 qualifier went 7.11. Radial tire I believe was 7.73 but might've been 7.66....totally hauling the mail on a radial. Chuck Samule won prostreet with consistant runs in the 6.60-6.70 range and saw a 223 MPH speed posted and heard of a 240 that was run. Heavy street I forget but they too were flying. Several cars carrying the front tires 200+ ft. Superchargers, turbos, blowers, juice...and just a great weekend for making power.

I still want to know the story of the 80's Camaro in 10.5 outlaw that caught fire on the starting line. He was a turbo car and got burnt down on the line by his competitor and when the tree came down he stood back in it and a flame front about 1/2 the size of the car shot out the front bumper area and also caught fire in the car burning the drivers arms but he got out and was walking.

I believe he was injecting fuel in the IC track and it somehow ignited when he brought it off boost then went back into boost. The car was full of smoke and I can only figure the fuel in the IC track in the car to the liquid IC ignited, ruptured and the fire burnt inside the car and shot fire back out the compressor side of the turbo. It was a yellow color fuel fire so not alky. Glad he made it out with only minor burns as it was not pretty and I believe he ran the 7.11 for the #1 spot.

I saw a couple TR's in the parking lot but never caught up with any one. One needed some bumper fillers and the other was a white T. The place was so packed during racing, I stayed in the stands w/ my group most all wkend except for one trip thru the pits early Sat when some cars weren't even out of the trailers yet.
