Wtf?!?!

I opened my hood today to work on the car and I see a cat laying right on top of the plenum. We exchanged stares and then he darted off. I bolted on an adjustable wastegate actuator and took the car for a test spin. Came back and parked it for awhile. Saw the same cat walking around my car and then he disappeared. I popped the hood again and he took off from underneath the car.

Any humane ways to get rid of this cat?

It is common for cats to do this. Try some mothballs under the hood. The smell should keep it and other animals away.

Years ago I got into my truck and when I started it I heard a thumping sound. Thought the belt had broken. Turned out a cat had decided to spend the night in the radiator shroud and when I started the truck... Not a pretty sight to say the least.:redface:

Any humane ways to get rid of this cat?

My method may not be the most humane but my high velocity BB rifle with a scope works pretty well, have about 10 cats in the hood that love to climb on top of my car when the hood is warm, getting rid of them slowly but surely one at a time.

Try the moth ball thing.

It worked in my case. Just put them in a cloth sack or leave the open can under the car.

Don't put them under the hood, If you forget about them and use the a/c or hreater........GACK!

if the mothball smell gets into the air intake for the heater, then you need to fix the seal along the back edge of the hood.

I have lots of cats around where I live that like sleeping on my cars. What I do is shake salt around my car. It has worked pretty good for me.

thanks for the tips, I'll try the mothballs in a can first and see if that works. RMAR, those vids were awesome...haahha. Aminga, that vid was also funny but gives me the idea that cats are stubborn, may have to resort to violence

I dont have a cat problem, but squirrels love to sleep under my hood. Actually found one's leg caught up in the throttle linkage last week (was only his leg, looks like the other ones ate him while he was caught). Anyway, since then I have left an oil drain pan under the car with coolant in it, havent seen them since. Although if that didnt work, I was just going to put down some rat poison, that does the trick everytime.
