lol... I can tell you that I have been in my buddys 2003 Procharged Z06 with a built 346. He put down 660 rwhp and 540 lbs. of torque.

I can also tell you that my buddys Z06 would get smoked by Bison's street car that has a 66 GTQ. It would not even be a race. I would say that there would be 10 car lengths between them. The Z06 pulls pretty hard thru 1st into 2nd but starts to fall off rapidly IMO. And when he was at 80 mph it was pulling but waaaaay less then early on. Bison's car was pulling at 80 like it was at 30. Quite impressive. A fine example of a how a finely tuned car can make brutal and consistent HP. You would have to bring a solid high 9 second street car to give that car a run for its money.

A mildly modified TB would smoke a new, old, or any time in the near future Z06 IMO.

I think his clutch must have been slipping. I also think 3rd gear in a stock Z06 is quite impressive, and my Buick is faster than my Z06 by a lot. Dyno hp is not the same as track time. I would think a 660 rwhp Z06 should be in the 9's with the right launch, tires and shocks.

Probably low 10's with the stock IRS. Most dyno tests are done at 1:1 which would be 4th gear. It would have showed less power on the dyno if it was slipping. Slip is not out of the question though. Also keep in mind im still in 2nd at 80mph. From a roll in 2nd then punching it: .80-82 g's at 45mph, .55-.60g's at 80mph through the mufflers on a old 2.5 inch hooker exhaust system. Its much more violent opened up. I lose 4.5mph through mufflers in the quarter.

z06 vs us

I've had the pleasure of putting 2 z06s down allready 1 was in anaheim the other was in fullerton wasn't even close on both occasions they did jump out on me because i didn't come up on sufficient boost while foot braking it but that wont happen again thanks to a built turbo 400 with transbrake and a light weight driveshaft i wonder if one those cobra 500s would be a worthy adversary

'08 Z06 vs. Turbo Regal/Grand National

I was there in the parking lot with my GN (one of the six Buicks), on the night in question when the guy came through the parking lot with his new Z06.

I have really enjoyed all of the posts on this subject, and all of the speculation as to the outcome of a race.

Nobody mentioned the fact that this was a BRAND NEW '08 Vette with a paper, State of Connecticut, temporary plate taped inside the rear window! This guy just bought the car and the temps are good only for fifteen days. How much experience do you think the guy has in launching the car on run-flat radials?

He will get owned by a Turbo Buick in the near future.

Send him my way and I will take care of him. I have beaten 3 of those cars already at 17psi with my new setup. The look in their face afterwards is priceless. "Bro, what you got in that thing??????" I play stupid everytime and say, "I don't know, v6 with bored out mufflers";)

I usually say I have a 305 that needs a tuneup and the tires out back are for looks only;)

Local guy with a 2007 Z06 that is bone stock went 11.7@124 with his, and I wouldn't consider him a good driver by any means.......

I was there that day at MIR of 11/06 with my WE4!

10.85 129.50 New Best for a Bone-stock C6Z06 on DOT Drag Radials - Corvette Forum

Enjoy reading this thread, he seems to be the bone stock Z06 guru. The air, temperature and traction must have been excellent. :)

Yes everything was as good as it gets in my book that day at MIR. The track was just running a single lane for the track rental. There were two, maybe three 427's there including Ranger. That's the day a drag radial 427 got into the tens. I wish they were running both lanes that day because I "Really" wanted to bitch slap all the 427's around. My 2004R which was just built was slipping bad on the 2 to 3 shift; bad enough that the limiter in the TT street chip would shut the car down for a moment on the shift. I too was on MT drag radials (275/60's), 109 block, OEM computer, stock rear, dual alky and unleaded running 21 psi crossing the finish line, a 1.46 60 FT. on a 4 psi foot brake launch. The et was 10.15 at only 131 mph due to the flaring trans. Burnout pic below from that day at MIR of 11/06. I asked the vette guys to invite me to "their" next track rental when my trans would be fixed and never heard a thing.:D

Gotta love -800' density altitudes. I highly doubt that Ranger could even get an 11.40 out here in Cali.

Dude down the street has a 2000's Z06:confused: and has tons of mods (single guy with much disposable income) heads, wheels, tires, power adder, who knows what else. Constantly down a Cecil County Dragway in Md, will not say how fast but he said it is faster than his old stang that ran 10.80's. But I can say that when he fires it up man I get that tingly sensation in the bathing suit area..........whoo man I gettin hot just thinkin about it.

give em' hell man

You have issues bud. Id sure love a whack at him though.

What is it a national security secret?

I guess, you know how those things go. I guarantee you one thing if I had a car that fast I would not hesitate to tell someone what it runs if they ask. Still not the fastest vette around but none the less very nice.

Can i have a piece after mike's done with em? Maybe i will let my wife drive and really shut em up. Any shooter with a big wallet can order one up. I worked at a vette shop for a while. Most (not all) vette owners are the biggest nerds you will ever meet. Some of them would organize " oil change parties". Enough said:rolleyes:
