as of right now nothing. im having something made soon, you will have to wait and see once i get it made. it will be an external gate setup with a AMS500 and a custom dp
That is who's flange & puck assembly is used on our pipes.
here is a picture of what it will look like. they built the downpipes using my old one in these pictures. hope this helps. mine has a hole in it for the use of a wideband so disregard the bung. it will fit with the a/c and its more then you will need. o and if you want to get real crazy you can easly set it up for a external gate.
one other thing. my 5 dollar rattle can held up better then my jet hot coat you see on the up-pipe

Who's 5 dollar rattle can did you use? Hi Temp Rustoleum? Bar BQ hit Paint? I need to touch up my Poston jet coated header. You 5 dollar rattle job does look better than both our jet hot coated parts......

5 sold & 1 waiting in the wings if some one backs out. Problem is these are being built the same time we are getting the 86-7's so there have been production delays for both.

Also, never stated if this will fit with the AC, Stock/Poston headers, connections (Slip-on or other), one/2 piece, coating, etc. ......... maybe I missed it ........ :smile:

Next question is...are these coated in any way?? What is the finish on them? (Ceramic-bare steel-jet coated)??? Brian...I am VERY interested in that last one... ---Keith

So I received the down pipe last week and attempted to install last weekend. Alright, so this is one clean pipe. Smooth bends, clean welds, truely a good quality pipe.
But people, whoever said this thing fits with the heater box in never mentioned the serious heat shield modification involved.
I am trying to install with the motor in. I had to cut the old pipe out, impossible to remove intact. The old pipe is double walled?!?! That's like a 1 3/4" I.D. pipe. This new pipe is going to make a world of difference!
The heater box heat shield is shaped so I can't pull it out from the top or bottom. So I took a hammer and beat the crap out of it on the car until the pipe fit. Well, if you consider bolting it up but rubbing still, I'm done. Unfortunately, I don't.
For fun, I started it and enjoyed the sound of "open headers", then shut it off before it got too hot.
Next step is to take it all apart, beat on the shield a little more and try to make it fit. I'm looking for at least a 1/2" clearance.

Understand one thing, by beating the crap out of your heat shield you are probably busting up you fiberglass heater box. May as well just taken it out and be done with it. Anyway the real problem is that your body bushings are worn out. If you had've replaced them that would give you at least 1/4-1/2 inch more clearance.
Beating is figurative...
I'm not really beating the heat shield to the point of breaking the fiberglass. Being in Southern California, I need my A/C, and I'd like to start driving the car more often. Replacing the body bushings makes perfect sense, raising the car from the frame, increasing clearance. Thanks for the tip! I'll post back with my results.

This pipe isn't like an 87 where you can move it an 1/8" & change the clearance a whole lot. Before you get crazy beating the heat shield make sure everything is correct as far as motor mounts & body bushings. I know you have to bend the A/C line about an 1/8" to 1/4" if I remember correctly. I helped build this unit back in the early parts of 2000, I think. Been a while.
It is a 2 piece & it is stainless. Like our 86-7 pipes it uses an RJC flange & puck. The flange may be an 1/8" thicker then the older units.
On a side note I do have 4 more here. Just arrived today. With shipping I will be raising the prices up slightly. about $25.00. I wanted to get these out there & see how they sold. If we can get 10 more going at a time we may be able to do better on the pricing. It is just not worth doing a few here & there.
