Don cruz is running a 109 block.??
I got two that I "think" will do it... One is in our TSM car, we will find out soon
The other is an Anderson built 109, Mike Litch's creation, with a set of stage 2 heads... This is going in an outlaw car, possibly Spooky, for a 8 sec trail![]()
SII heads on a 109?Who'd a thunk it?

dont you mean a machined girdled, steel crank, forged pistons & H-beam rods, roller cammed, billit mains 8sec TSM MOTOR(far from a stock block 109).(factory stock block109,s in the nine,s) but not for long before you window the block(ALA ORLANDO,GABBYTHE LIST GOES ON AND ON) or drive over youre crank!
Please don't take this the wrong way as I am all for pushing the performance envelope but it gets to the point that - what is the point? I suppose just to be able to say you did it? I am not taking anything away for those that have done it or are still trying to run the number.
I mean it's essentially a stage 2 rotating assembly stuffed into a band-aided, duct taped, superglued STOCK block with some bailing wire for good measure. It's remarkable the power these grandma blocks can handle but I personally wouldn't risk the investment. Let's face it, the blocks won't survive too many sub 9 sec passes no matter what you do to them.
It's still cool though.

Well said Will, My stock block didn't come with cement or girdles or head stouds, you get the point.
I have no doubt that you will get there this year Jason !! Good luck to you!!

I agree. I'll bet years from now for some it will still be the topic of conversation at their dinner table at night...![]()
Exactly! Why do people climb mountians? Why sail around the world solo etc... Just to say I did it:biggrin:
hmm... Not about saying anything, mostly just doing it. I understand the investment part, but nothing about these cars would be considered an investment lol. My goal is being able to have the power to run in the 8s and make it live. I've proven it can be done in the 9.0 - 9.3 over and over again without failures for the past few years. Still running the same setup all this time. I would like to run an 8 second pass but that wasn't the question. I wanted to know who has done it and how many times.. There is only three that I know of personally that have done this with a stock block. There is one guy touting his 8 sec 109 but haven't seen proof yet.
