I have a few friend's in the Delorean community and this car is well known. It was built some time ago but has been in and out of delorean shops for various issues. The car had tuning issues in the past but is supposed to be sorted. 265ci all aluminum Duttweiller built, twin turbos, mid 500hp on street tune. Really wish I had the extra funds for this one. Always liked deloreans and have driven one in the past but 130hp stock and 17sec 1/4 mile just doesn't match the car's appearance.

Nice ride and something that would be fun to own! If it were me though I'd put the factory wheels back on it and have it painted (yes, painted) a deep black... Car would be Gorgeous!

Friend of mine owns one and her mother owns one that the Delorean facility in Houston painted black. It is slick looking. Also has stage 2 upgrade so 200hp instead of 130.

this was on TV a while ago.. Was a popping turd goin down the road. I like the MOROSO chrome valve covers to :wtf: Will the 5 speed take one hell run IF it can make it down the road full throttle ??

I'm wondering what al. Block they're using? From the looks of things it's to old to have a TA al. Block. Maybe one of the old Indy blocks? I used to have two.
And I thought I was the only one running Westach gauges!

Didn't sell at $26k and changed. That's what a nice stock one usually goes for. Maybe it will pop up again somewhere.

I met some guys in a delorean club once and they told me once theses cars are involved in a wreck due to the stainless construction and the metal being hard to work with they are usually sanded filled and painted. Told me if you see a painted one it's usually been involved in a crash. IDK sounded like it could be true.

No not really. There are still a ton of NOS parts for those cars still in the DMCH warehouse. Some owners wanted to be different and had them painted. I know many people in the Delorean Mid Atlantic club. My friend's mom has one that the original owner sent to DMC Houston to have the stage 2 engine upgrade done and also had them paint the car black.

Well like I said that's what I was told. I totally agree that some guys and girls probably just paint them because they want to. They are pretty cool cars but I probably would never buy one. Just not for me.

They are cool but even with the stage 2 upgrade (190hp) they are painfully slow. Also like driving an oven in the summer. That's why I liked that stage car. Delorean was planning a twin turbo when they folded up.

Fastest I ever saw one go was high 12s. They are like lead sleds and I agree they should have built one with double or triple the power! That would have been pretty cool :)

I know someone that put a supercharged Nissan 3.5 in one that runs high 12's low 13's. There is also one local that's a wide body with a twin turbo eagle 3.0 v6
