Hi

Does anyone know if the 84/85 hydroboost that came in the 1984/85 Grand Nationals has the gold/bronze cylinder... which is used for emergency braking should brakes/power steering fail?

What side of the hydroboost is the cylinder on? toward the driver fender or away?

Has anyone installed and 84/85 GN hydroboost into their 86/87 TRs?

thanks... dave

The hydroboost does not have the cylinder on it. It was internal. I installed one on my 87 T and they work great. Rob

Hi Rob

thanks for the response.

Did you use the stock 84/85 power steering lines?

dave

Dave, I bought the stainless lines from Powerbrakebob. Pricey but they look great. Hope this helps. Rob

I did same as Rob.
The 84 85 hoses won't fit, the ps pump turns the opposite direction from the 86 87.
A pricey conversion, but now trouble free.

I have a hydroboost off an 84, it has the compressed air cylinder on it. its on the passengerside of it.

thanks for all the information.

I'll look into PowerBrakeBob's power steering lines
