Just got home from the Bonniville Salt Flats. We actually beat the old record by quite a bit. Unfortunatly, to set a new record, you need to run twice. They then take your average speed of the two runs. On our second run we broke the rear end. We'll be back...

Here's a few shots of the "car".

At the starting line with owner/ driver, Skip Hedrich inside.

Oh yea!
Even though we didn't set a record, (this time;)) we will be getting a nice bronze trophy for being the fastest car on the salt, all week.

Skip, getting some ice from his wife, while cooking like a potato in the heat, waiting to run.

After packing the chute on a Comp Eliminator A/Dragster for many years, and packing my own skydiving chute successfully for over 550 jumps. I was asked to take over chute packing dutys. Kinda funny, but I actually find this task very relaxing. Even the dog thinks I'm sick.

That is so cool, thanks for the pics.My friend was their last year with his GN and went 133.8 with a mostly stock GN.He wants to go 200 now so we are looking at a new car to build. Thanks again

I've pondered the idea of seeing what one could do with a Turbo Buick on the salt. I think I'd go with a TTA with better aerodynamics. With enough power you should have no problem going 200 in a Turbo Buick. Heck! people are doing over 200 mph in the quarter mile with these bricks.

His car is an all original 40k car.,so he doesn"t want to cage it.I thought 133 was good,I think we could have got a little more by locking the converter.Their were some new (c5) vettes that only went 126 and 128.Thanks again for the pics:cool:

Thanks everyone.
Can't wait to get back to the salt. I've been into drag racing all my life. However, I may be coming down with a bad case of salt fever.:D
A few more.
