Back in 1990, my brother had a 1980 Chevy Silverado fleetside truck he was trying to sell at a Super Chevy show in Noble, OK......My bro had a ton of work done on the truck, eg, shaved tailgate, lowered, Centerlines, new interior, gas filler neck relocated to bed floor, bed had no dents, scratches, black imron paint job....this truck was flawless in every detail. This old guy and his wife were seriously interestd in the truck and offered him $3000 on a asking price of $6500. My bro politley said no thank you.....The guy left and came back and at a distance discussed it with his wife, all the while, looking at a NADA book he brought with him....He then came back and told my bro he would give $3000 for the truck, his final offer. After all, he said according to his NADA book the truck was only worth $2800. My brother then showed him all the details of the truck and reiterated his price of $6500. The old man got mad and started spouting off about the NADA price of the truck...My bro and I looked at each other and started laughing and walked away.....The old man had no clue! Anyway I sold the truck for my bro for $6500 to a young man in Lawton who thought he was stealing it from us.........It takes all kinds....LOL
