First run saw lc1 was not reading at times would blink 8 times and go out then 8 times again. AFR tracking was on. Shiftnoid would not shift car, very hot shift solenoid.1.53 60ft. get this 12.52@106.5:mad: Unhooked the shift noid and shut the lc1 off. 2nd pass 60 ft1.49 10.603@126.26.:) 3rd run 60ft 1.49 ,shift 2nd gear car goes dead? found breaker between battery and alt blown. reset breaker all good except car wont start? no spark? Now what. I am tired and going to bed I hope someone can and will help:confused: Thanks TONY AKA TTBONE.

1. check fuses
2. check connections i.e. coil, module, crank sensor
3. Know anyone with a GN? Plug your computer to their car and see if it starts. Same with coil/module.
4. Why did breaker trip for the alt? Grounded wire?

With Rob....

Seems like a grounded wire. Could even be the "hot coil" that shorted or a loose wire that may be rubbing against something during operation, causing the intermitant operation of the lc-1. When you find the cause, don't forget the fuseable links, they're there to protect the circuit branches.

Also, check your battery wire that runs down to the starter for signs of rubbing or grounding out on the header or downpipe. Very common. I would bet you have some blown fuses, possibly the ECM/IGN fuse, and might have a popped fuseable link that also runs down to the starter.
Good run on #2 btw. Congrats on that one.

Patrick

Thanks Patrick

I am still searching why the car cranks and wont start. The casper cam sensor light s and blinks when cranking so that still works. I am going to raise the car and ck for wires grounding right now. The ecm wire has power to. I wish I had an extra ecm to plug in and try.

Help

Found no wires shorted/ all fuses and links are fine. The fuel pump runs, the cam sensor lights up and flashes when cranking. The shift solenoid was connected were the ecm power is connected. I think the solenoid blew the breaker? But no start. Is there a way to ck the ecm without installing it in another car?

injectors firing?

spark?

RPM showing on the pro while cranking?

no spark

I will ck the rpm on the scanmaster. I broke one of the starter bolts off tonight cking wires. I will get the bolt out tomorrow and ck that. How can I test the inj's?

If you...

have a noid lite, you can check inj. pulse. All my ecm's are loaned out, or I would loan one to you. Sorry.

The scanmaster will probably not show RPM, as the ECM doesn't calculate it until after the engine is running.

The Pro should, as it calculates RPM as soon as the engine is moving faster than 100 RPM or so.

Bob I will ck for a rpm reading tonight on the pro after I get the broken bolt repaired and let you know. This car is driving me crazy!

Its alive again

Well after inspection. I found the crank sensor had worked loose and was rubbing on the Harm. Balancer. I was sure that since the breaker blew that something else had been damaged but not the case. Coincidence. I still hate the way the lifters are making noise. Every time I adjust the lifters they are fine for a couple passes then start making noise again. This winter I think its time for a roller cam! Thanks for everyones post trying to help. I cant wait until Sat. Now its back to getting the Pro and LC-1 dialed in. Or I am going to remove it and go back to something easier to tune?

Ok!

Good to hear, I'm sure you'll get the pro and lc-1 dialed in and enjoy it. If you have questions, try the forum on FTS or call Mike direct. He'll get you straightened out on the why's and wherefores.
