"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"

5 GN's were stolen from hotels last month in BG.

What does this guy do?

Takes his GN to a hotel, stays the night, and is shocked it's gone.

These cars are not safe at malls, movie theaters, public streets, hotels etc....yet people are shocked when they take them there, come out, and they are gone.

Hope he gets it back quickly and in one piece.

Just asking for trouble parking these cars out of eyesight in a public place like that...and in Montgomery you're just asking for it to be stolen.

Theft deterrents are great, but you also need a good column guard, a GPS and/or lojack (if it's available in your area). The more deterrents the better, the intent is really just to slow them down and make it not worth their time getting caught in the act...

According to the OP he had multiple Theft deterrents. This was a ramp truck job for sure.

This happens way too frequently with our cars. Glad I never let mine out of my sight. Best of luck with the recovery :(

I agree. Except I'd clone an old clapped out Regal to look like a GN. Then install some C4 on the ignition circuit. It would be like that scene in the movie "The Last Boyscout" where that guy (that just nailed Bruce's wife) turns the key on his ignition and BOOM! Mr. thief would be squared away for good. Then perhaps widespread news coverage would make it on TV to where other would be thieves would reconsider car theft.

Yes I know this would never happen in a million years but what if it were to....well the thief would be gone, and maybe it would put fear into other thieves, in if stealing that car is really worth your life. But sadly not only is this illegal but the criminals get off way too easy.

Rant over.

with my luck

and excellent memory..........
I'd forget to switch it off and go out to move or drive the car! LOL:biggrin:

Yep, he keeps pming me but I just don't know what to believe from this guy...
yea, I was lookn at his car last year sometime but I wasnt even sure if that was his car or not he was trying to sell me. he seems to have a little problem with representing items for sale with integrity so I passed on it. it did have some very good parts in it tho. y would he be PMing you? is he still a member here? cant remember.

Well WTF is a guy supposed to do? Sleep in it with a .45? NEVER drive it or take it anywhere? He said he had multiple theft deterrents on it and there's no way they drove it out. It was a tow truck job, only way to avoid that is to never drive it. But if you never take it on a road trip why have it? Just bad luck IMO.

OR maybe it's karma, if it's who you guys seem to think it is.

.......Looking into GPS tracking devices over the winter....

In all seriousness though, I hope you NEVER get that car back (which you wont), you deserved to have it stolen. If I could meet the scumbag that stole your car, I would shake his hand and give him $550 (you know, the amount you owe me). I will be going to bed with a smile on my face tonight

I mean no disrespect to the good guys out there that have had stuff stolen, and I do feel sorry for you guys, but Jason had this comming....fair and square!
