Usually this is an easy task I've done before, but on this new model Maytag, MEDB850YG0, I have the back off and instead of the element being right there, it is down under everything on the bottom.
I can't figure out how to get to it..I can see it though.
I think the top must pop loose and rotate up from the front, then the front cover must pop off somehow but can't seem to find anything on the internet detailing how to get this model apart.
Any ideas??

Here's an image of the model I have

For me in the past, its always been a temp sensor on my model

post some pics.

On our front-loader, I've changed the element twice. (its never been the thermal switches..) On ours it comes out the front, there is a mounting foot that screws to the bottom. unscrew that and unhook the wires and a lift+twist+pull+tilt from the front and it unhooks from the rear ductwork.

When the igniter on my maytag gas dryer went. I had to remove the door and pop the top then remove the front panel to get to the front bottom area of the dryer

It appears the top will lift up from the front and the back mounts are curved like a hindge from it to swing up on, but I can't figure out exactly where to push on the front to release the clips, afraid to force it much, but from the diagram Dave posted, looking closer it appears that I can push from the front corners with a puddy knife to release the clips. Let me dork around with that today and see where I get.

Success! With 2 puddy knives, push straight into the front corners and the top pops right up.....remove 1 screw in each side and the front slides right up and off.... A couple more screws and the heating element slides right out the front after disconnecting 3 pairs of wires from it.
The element has no continuity..can't see that it is broken but will remove it from the sleeve tomorrow..parts store not open anyway till Monday.
Thanks all for the help! This board always rocks for almost any repair job not even Buick related!
