Hey everyone, I've been playing with TPI cars for awhile, so when I picked up an 89 TTA, I thought that I could use Diacom to tune it. Well, after the first time I linked to the car, I was a little dissapointed. There is not near as much data available as there was with the TPI cars. No Injector Duty Cycle, Fuel Pump Voltage, Timing Advance, Knock Retard, etc... Does anyone here use Diacom to tune? I'm debating if I should consider picking up a different scan tool. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

It won't be much different with any other scanners. While Diacom sometimes leaves out a few things, the Vin 7 screen is pretty much everything there is. Only about 25 bytes of data and the last 5 change depending on the mode (normal/ALDL).

If you want more you'll have to go with one of the buss snoopers everyone is using.

Thanks for the reply...it looks like I will keep Diacom around for the wife's 85 Camaro and buy a different scan tool for the TTA. Thanks again.

It doesn't look like Diacom left anything out other than a couple of flags in the mode words.

Personally, I prefer Diacom to many of the others since you can see more data on the screen but a nice Vetronic Tech 1 is nice too.
