getting the Blue T type sorted out .
have low ex temps on one cyl...
fires up ok, seems to be weak on one cyl, (sounds off) ex temps are 575-600 on all cyl BUT #2- temps are 375-400,
did a leak down all cyl's are 2-3 %,
checked valve adj (4 times) checked rockers, springs, push rods, swapped inj harness for new harness, (ohm'd it to check) changed inj from 2 to 4 no diff.
had fast unit checked & updated. all drivers were ok.
changed plugs, no diff.
ohm'd plug wires , ok.

drove it around the block, slow to spool, but comes on very strong,
still low ex temp on #2,

only thing I have left to change is FAST harness,
this problem was apparent with old motor, same fast unit/ harness.

I'm at a loss where to look,

fun part is driving it again, has 4in down pipe and 4 in race muffler, LOL
heres a pic after a drive, sitting in the drive way.

Seems like you covered most of the bases. Only other thing I can think of would be a coil or plug wire issue. Getting weak spark to that particular cylinder.

Ed

I did, didn't follow,
thanks

I'll switch coil paks, see if that has any effect,
Thanks

This will sound crude but can you pop in a stock ECM and chip to if it acts the same?

not easily

this has 96 lb inj, with wide band O2.
and fast B2B unit.
thanks

whats the junk in the garage you have covered up

Lee, about time you got that piece of iron running! :D

Check the cam sensor setting to see if it is proper, and maybe move it slightly?

Also, check vac reading and see if it is steady.

good ideas!

ex temps are with a lazer digital temp gun, actually two of them.

will move the cam sensor, and ch vac readings
and yea, I know its about time!

Thanks

OH.........Ty
that junk I've had for 30 yrs. is this

update, (still no good)

changed coil pak/module, still the same.
changed plug wires, no effect.
swapped inj to different cyl, no difference.
hooked up vac gauge, steady at 15 inches, (WITH A 236@050 ROLLER CAM)
dropped to 14in in gear. steady.
checked ex temps, #2 - 350 degrees, all the rest 550 degrees.
loaded against T brake, @ 2500 rpm- #2 - 500-550 , all the rest 700-750
haven't tried moving the cam sensor, came looking for a beer in the fridge,
none! so will think this one over.
haven't scanned the fast program as connector broke, and new one is on the way.

Try swapping sides with injector harness. 1 goes to 4 , 5 to2 3 to6. See if the problem changes to cyl 5.

thanks

I have replaced the inj harness with a brand new one. with no difference

have changed plugs,
at idle plug looks slightly rich, ( but so do others) when rpm is brought up to 2500 + and held, then shut off, plug is clean, so are others.

this all started when I installed fast B2B unit.
on different motor! (but same car)
similar problems then too!
I ran max effort setup before, with no problems ,
I have another fast harness, could it be anything to do with the harness? why?

I have another fast box & o2 , but would need to put in set up.

Thanks

Try moving the injector from #2 and see if it follows. Good luck

X2

swapping injector harness will only show if there is a problem in the harness, swapping sides will show if problem is in harness prior to injectors harness

changing the harness is a waste of time. Doing what i suggested will tell you if the problem is in the main harness/box or the engine.

ok

I did swap 2 with 5, left the rest alone, no difference. #2 still colder that the rest.
idle on vac gauge is steady, @ 15 in.
reason I will swap the harness, download/ data logger connector is broken,
I sent the fast box to craig smith, checked the drivers, & ran load test. all ok,
I cannot view the program in fast unit until I replace or repair connector,
I have ran a leak down test, all cyl were between 2-3%, did not preform compression test,
but with all cyl's similar, and steady vac..........

thanks

How did you swap 2 with 5 and leave the rest alone? I don't see how the harness is long enough to do this:confused: did you move the pins on the harness?

this is

a caspers harness, it is a little longer than a stock one.
I have a hot wire setup for it, but did not want to confuse things yet.
thanks
