I was hoping to read about them this morning:frown:

I think Rich R dropped/broke a valve and had transmission issues. Haven't heard any results though:redface:

Sorry Rich:eek:

Last I heard, Dave Fiscus broke a timing belt so it was Ted A and Chris Lyons in TSO. Jason White and Don Cruz went side by side 9.55's yesterday.

Just left the track.

In tsm it was Steve Hughes against Jason White in the finals. Great race! Steve left first but Jason caught him mid track and won. Jason did lay lay down a 9.38 @ 147 friday evening during qualifing. Don Cruz qualified 2nd with a 9.5X, Steve Hughes 3rd, Tim Lemay 4th, Art Frey 5th, I was 6th I think...there was about 12 cars I believe that ran qualifing runs.

In tso, the only 2 cars running for eliminations. Ted A beat Chris Lyons.

Congrats to Jason, steve and Ted. Also would like to say congrats to Toni C for making her best pass yet in her new tsm car...9.6X at 140!!!

I decided not to go and take care of things around the house, price of fuel and no time off work were major factors.
What was the turnout like?

I don't think you were the only one sitting at home.. We have been laying low for a while here to :( .. I was curious about the turnout to.. I think most are sticking around their local events .

It seems like the attendance was less than last year.

I spent yesterday morning replacing trans front seal, had some wiring issues, intercooler pipe kept blowing off, more time wrenching than racing.:(

Its a good thing I didn't go. To drive that distance to see a dismall attendence would really piss me off. Instead I ate through $50 worth of gas cruising mine all over the place. It was a awesome day for driving the Buick. Today, I will be cruising her to a show car in Woodbridge. Hope they brought their sunglasses.

Ty,

Don't be sorry $hit happens and no child has died so it ain't the end of the world, I may be back this year or car will sit for awhile and will pull out the 11.50 blue T and play with that's all........no biggie.

I am sorry for all the people that had problems.
From what I was told the track was not hooking the greatest.

The car count was lower from what I was told.

It's obvious why attendance/car counts are down this year and the same could be said for any other types of drag racing events not just the Buick stuff. A prime example is the Import drag racing (NOPI) events that were very popular and had big crowds of spectators as well as racers. Attendance and car counts for the classes got so low that they canceled the remaining events for this year. Remember these were also events that included bikini contests and Jello wrestling and still attendance was too low!!!;)

Basically, I think the racers as well as the spectators are sticking more to their local track events and if they decide to travel to an event they are a lot more selective about where they go.

From my point of view

I was there last year and Sat. this year. (spectating). I hate to say this but, our beloved Buick events are dwindling away. The price of crude is killing the economy. Our local track which used to be crowded on Wed. test and tune is very sparce. Don't know about their regular Sat. nite program. I thought the car count was down @ BPG this year compared to last year. But the one thing that I am noticing @ BG and BPG is the livelyness of the crowd is subduded. How can you be upbeat when it is draining you to go. I don't see an end to it either. Sorry for being so glume.
