Sounds like you tossed the governor spring, drop the pan and pull the gov, search the pan and you'll find the spring in there somewhere.

hope thats all it was

I'll drop the pan and see, , is the gov accessable from the pan or external?
any way to prevent it from happening again?

thanks!!

Yep..Sure is..

It is internal just under pan towards the back. 4.. 13mm bolts hold it in.
First ck the for the spring. Chances are it is mangled if it came out. If you should need one, contact us.

As for how to prevent this, we "pin" the govenor with a set screw so it WILL NOT do this again. I would like to explain to you why that high of a shift point is not consistant with this style govenor.

So is it as simply as removing the pan or do you have to remove the filter and valve body as well?

Thanks
Ray

Easy.....

Just the pan. You may have to move the filter over but that is it.
The VB does not have to come down.
easy deal.

Just drop the pan, filter shouldn't have to be bothered but you can rotate it out of the way if you need to. The gov housing is behind the vb, no need at all to remove the vb. It's really simple and easy.

hey, you guys are ok !

thanks for the help,
even if some of you do have the wrong nascar on your signature LOL!

seriously,,, thanks a bunch,
