If you go for this I'd like to hear some results from you as to whether or not it affects your PDR ability. I'm in the same boat as you, actually as I type this I'm nursing an eye infection wondering how I'm going to fix any dents tomorrow. I wanted to have this done before I got into PDR, now I'm not sure I'd ever do it.
Nobody realizes just how strenuous PDR is on your eyes. When I went for training it was a two week deal away from home with a PDR veteran. I knew I'd have the evenings to kill in the hotel alone, so I brought my laptop and a playstation along to kill the time. Biggest waste of time ever. Put them back in the trunk the first night and never touched them. After each day was over my eyes hurt like crazy. I'd take out my contacts and listen to the tv for a couple hours before going to bed. Still haven't been involved long enough to really get my eyes conditioned for it. Glad I got into it though, they tell me I'm a natural and had a lot easier time getting it than most others. First whole car I ever did was a really picky guy who took it to a really picky restorer to have the hood and deck replaced (3-4 inch hail). Neither of them could find any dents in the roof

.
Sorry for the hijack.
