I've read the articles on getting used motors from the earlier regals, but I haven't heard anything on how buying oem compares to this.

Will the windows roll up/down with comparable speeds (to that of the A body motors).....or is the used A body motor much faster?

It seems much easier to pick up a correct motor and save the wiring hassle (with the exception of changing the size of the feed wire).

Basically, someone convince me not to get the "correct" motors :)

Thanks,

Mark

I got a replacement motor from O'Reilly's and it rolls up a lot faster now. I didn't change the voltage to it or anything. It takes about 3 seconds to roll up and about 2 to go down.

The early Regals used different regulators so the later motor is different. The wiring is also different

http://news.ozarksnow.com/business/oreilly/dec24.97.html :) It's an auto parts chain.

BTW Kirban has replacement motors as well. 75 bucks.

I have a post regarging this, a couple days ago. The author of the article has agreed to send me a picture, or a diagram of what needs to be done to the switch.

Most of us would be happy with a stock replacement motor. I'm told that the bearings go bad, and slow them down. (mine eventually just quit)

Since they are kinda slow to begin with, the worn out ones are really, really slow. My drivers side was taking like 6-7 seconds to roll up.
