Does anybody in Oahu have time to inspect a WE4 for me? You will be paid $50 for your gas and time no matter how the car turns out. I beleive the WE4 is in Hawaii Kai. Thanks. Chris (415)533-7521

Inspect? What do you need to be checked out? I'll be going to Hawaii Kai tonight.

Guy, I believe this is the car on CL... if it is, I'd guess he is looking at the typical repair spots (you know them all)

The car shows well in pics.

Ahh the we4 with 20". Did not put 2 and 2 together. I looked at it the day after he posted it. I was interested in the car. It needs some work. I looked at it when the sun was going down. My rule is....not to look at a car at night. A decent looking car. It has some "wrinkles" in the rear sail panel that makes me suspect it may have taken a hit in the rear. I looked under the car.....did not have much light, but the frame looked wrinkled.... this is the reason why you should not look at it at night. Needs a power master.....not a cheap unit. The car had some really bad knock retard and could not make full power. Has the typical header leak...crack or gasket....you choose. Oil leak from the pass side....most likely the valve cover gasket..... even a small leak makes a lot of smoke. The driver side seat frame was broken/cracked. Only seat frames that I've seen cracked were from a heavy hit from the rear.....check out my website when my we4 show car was hit by an uninsured drunk driver. Not saying it has hidden damage but a lot of the tell tale signs are there. It needs to be put on a lift and given a real good inspection. I did not get to pull up the carpet in the truck to check for more damage. Some rust starting to show on the drivers side above the drip rail.....looks small but it's not gonna be a sand bondo and paint job. The owner was honest and not looking to just make a buck.....but he is not the original owner and does not know the history of the car. Good luck.

Ryan, Thanks very much for the info! Now I know to pass on this one. Thanks to all the other Oahu members for the replies as well.

Might not be my place to say but, how bout that 50 bucks?(or at least offer) Ryan saved you a heart ache. Not trying to step on toes here. Just something to think about.

Got your PM. Sent you a reply. Thanks for the offer of 50 bucks. Dont worry about it. I looked at the car for my self cause I was planning on buying it. I have gotten priceless info from this website for the past 10 years. Got my 50 bucks worth allready. Peace....

PM replied. If you ever need any help out here I'd be glad to return the favor. Chris

No prob Chris. May take you up on that offer some day. Happy Thanks giving

Ryan's been looking for a nice TR since he got here... I think he takes the time to look at them all... :)

I had a blue turbo T for a while.

Dont wanna do too much body work. Thought my last car had too much rust. It seam like all the Turbo Buicks are rotten but the NA buicks have rust free bodies. After haveing a couple show cars, it's hard to settle for less. I've been keeping an eye open for Buicks. Been playing with my LS1 Camaro for a while. Will sell it and get something else.

Johns car?

There are still a couple of unmolested TRs floating around....

Did you look at the one that Lone Star had for sale?

No, do they have a website?

Here ya go.... asking price is stupid high... but I looked... car is nice... not perfect, but nice... had a high-end audio system in it at one point... all that is gone...

I stopped by yesterday. Took a quick look. Just a walk around. Looks really nice. Saw a small parking lot rash on the rear drivers side quarter panel. Probably able to buff it out....may still have a small ding. It was boxed in by some other cars. They have tons of cars packed in like sardines. Still kind of pricey. Hate it when Dealers get there hands on Turbo Buicks. Maybe they will give me a good deal on a trade for my Camaro or my Focus.

Maui 87 GN

Took a look at it during the Thanksgiving weekend. Took a bunch of quick pics. Keep in mind I just took pics of the bad parts. Mechanically it's a very sound car. Was surprised, it ran strong...makes full boost. Trany was worked on.....shifts very hard.....maybe a little too hard. My be able to adjust it on the throttle cable. Needs work on the power master....brake light comes on. The roof is solid. Usually the roof line is toast. There is surface rust on the roof but the only rust thru is the pic I took. There was some fiberglass work on the trunk in the usual place. That needs to be fixed or you will have a whole trunk rust problem. As a whole ....the car is worth saving. Will make a good driver. If you want a show car.....it would take a total resto.
