Ted.. when I 1st posted in this thread I didn't make mention, comment or even consider your post. Then you and Dave have to come in and start attacking like always.![]()
So Sully, what you are really saying here is you are not sure what makes a intercooler efficient, or are you just trying to imply that the BA isn't up to task because it is not on the "faster TSM cars"?
Ted,
When I read that statement this is what I get: You say that either I don't know what makes an IC efficient or I am saying the BA cooler isn't up to the task. Since neither of those are even close to correct, I consider it an attack. Maybe you can clear it up.
I asked you if you were not sure about efficiency then a few posts later, you concluded you do in fact know. Could have just answered a simple yes or no to me, but you take it as a attack.![]()
Basically, just because the BA didn't happen to make it on what you consider a fast TSM car doesn't make it any more/less of a choice for the fella here asking, plain and simple.
I think this has gone far enough.
Please let's take this off line if it has to continue.
A wise old physician said:I worked with a POW from the Viet Nam era some years back. As we worked from day to day, he shared some of the poking, prodding, and beating he learned to endure as a POW. I took a life lesson from his experience and I want to share it with you here (yes, it has something to do with intercooler threads). If you' are not interested, I take no offense.
This Air Force Pilot, turned physician, taught me that people in this world will learn where your 'hot spots' are located and will poke and prod you in those spots for the pure pleasure of it. He called these spots "'hot' buttons."
After being manipulated, and tortured for a long time during his captivity, and finding himself helpless in the involuntary ways he responded to that environment, he made it his life's work to collect/confiscate 'hot' buttons from those around him, so he could no longer be manipulated by those people. His purpose was to live his life unaffected by the actions/words of those around him who would press buttons when they wanted a particular response from him.
From the posts I read here, I'd say that two or three sides on this argument have buttons wired directly to individuals who cannot resist stirring the pot about intercoolers. To those I'd say "Take back the buttons" and eliminate your need to respond to the issues that you allow to incite your anger.
Like Gerald Ford Said, I'm beholding to no man, and only one woman....I've worked real hard these 20 years to collect buttons that I've allowed to control me from time to time. Life is easy now.
Well I have tried calling Ba performance for days now.. nobody answers the phone.. hmmmm
Hell **** talking is the best part of racing!
E-mail Mark at flyinggn@gmail.com
he is a great guy and works at BA.
Wish I had thought to say this....Mature, and Extremely well said.
And, to keep something about Buick Tech here, I like any Buick with an intercooler....Now, back to the original subject of the thread, If anybody has actually tried a BA intercooler, this is a good place to make mention of it.![]()
[I heard Roy and Laz had some problems after that pass, it appears they have found the limit of the " New /QUOTE] Hey Dave we found a problem not a limit . Now for the record we ran 9.30s with the old Jack Cotton intercooler before we went to the new one and still run one on a customers car that runs low nines on radials so i would not say that his old intercoolers a P.O.S. . I would say that if you know what your doin (not directed towards anyone ) you can get the job done with any of the intercoolers on the market . I wanna add with Jacks new cooler we have run 8.80s with lots of room to spare we also ran 8.90s with a gt42 with no up pipe breathing all the hot air from the radiator so his intercooler is not too bad and our motors in one piece . We looking forward to running 8.50 real soon i will keep you informed .Laz
Got my email from Mark at Ba.. They are bigger and cheaper than Rjc....
