Hello,
I am going to replace Power Steering Fluid in Regal LS 1997 3.8L
What are the best fluid brands/types for it? (preferably among those that walmart or NAPA or advanced auto or OReily delivers)
I am going for a long trip, so I will rather overpay to avoid issues with the steering pump
Can I use any brand?
I checked GM manual, it says only GM fluid is recommended, but I don't think it will be easy to find.
Thanks!

I have lots of Valvoline MaxLife Multi-Vehicle Automatic Transmission Fluid that I have no use for.
Some people say ATF was used for power steering (or still used)
may be use this ATF can be used for power steering?

We use the Maxlife from Napa at our shop. Good stuff. I put it in my GS.

I get it at the local Chevy dealer, at the parts counter. I'm sure you could get it at any GM dealership.

I went with the fully synthetic SWEET Brand PS fluid (it's made by Valvoline) and it reduced my PS fluid temps on my HydroBoost brake set up & is more heat tolerant.
