I am in the market for a wideband and would love to get the pros and cons of your favorite wideband. I am leaning towards LC1, but I see a lot of people like the plex. I read that plex says that the wideband has to be 24" from turbo, so what about LC1. I read that Hartline said that the wideband should be placed 8' from turbo. I am guess that Hartline uses LC1. Which one is the easiest to connect to powerlogger and GEN II. And how do you set them up correctly? Thanks for all the help in advance.

PLX is what I use. Set up an LC-1 2years ago for twodafloor and it was a PITA. Saw another fail when TurboBob and TurboPete installed it at the nats.

The AEM was easy for me. The powerlogger was more of a PITA to clean the gold terminals than anything else. There should be a large unused hole in the sheetmetal on the firewall by the brake pedal to feed the AEM wideband harness through without having to cut any wires. $35 to have the downpipe drilled and welded for a bung at your local weld shop.

I have had 2 LC1's on previous cars and I had trouble with both from time to time. I used a AEM on my last car and I installed one on a friend's car and they both worked great. I just ordered a new AEM for my current project last night!

Does the AEM connect to the POWERLOGGER or GEN II? If so, how do you connect it? Any instructions?

Sent from my iPhone using Turbo Buick

get the AEM one with a guage. It is a stand alone system. And then you can run a feed to your powerlogger so you can log it.

I actually have the AEM standalone UEGO gauge, also logged it to the powerlogger and upgraded the scanmaster to read from the powerlogger so that I can see the A/F, Boost, etc on the scanmaster as well as many other parameters.

mine on the way.. thanks.... sorry to jump on your thread but was about to post up the type question

Anybody try an Autometer? I see that the series boost/vac gauge that I have (ES) just came out with a analog style gauge, and its $239.

i have an lc1 i have it logging off the scanmaster thru the powerlogger, works great with TT wideband chip you can tune your car to w.e parameter you want on WOT you can set a target A/F and have the computer sort it all out for you by w.e the wiedband feeds it, im actually running a used o2 sensor that was used for about a year or 2 and im having no issues with it i like the lc1 ive had the aem in an rx7 i like aem also but i prefer the lc1 thru scanmaster..the problem most people have with the innovative (lc1) is they dont go thru the cycle that needs to be done before installing it... seen it first hand people install it without reading instructions you have to go thru a heat cycle with the lc1 before installing it... mine has no problem and seen alot of abuse. i would highly recommend the lc1 but read and follow heat cycle instructions before you install.. on the manual it says if you dont go thru heat cycle it wont work right and will prematurely fail

I use the AEM inline and view it on my scan master. I watch the scan master for knock anyhow, so it's nice not having to look at yet another gauge. Turbotweak sells them and has a nice wiring diagram on his site.

I have an LC1 with the xd-16 gauge. I have had excellent results with it, but am thinking of trying one of the others.

So, if you want these at a good deal, drop me a line.
