No ARP markings on the bolts Kevin. I looked at them very closely to make sure wheter or not they were. Looks like they are using crap for them now.

K1 rods are finish honed in the USA and only use ARP 2000 bolts. Got any better pics? I am sure Tom at K1 would like to see them if they don't have ARP bolts in them.

ARP has a black finish on all it's bolts, studs, washers, nuts.. Been using them for a loooong time. Never have seen anything but black.
Want decent rods.. Buy USA?? problem there is, many of the "USA" rods are actually chinese forgings, machined in the USA...ASK ALOT OF ??'s B4 you plunk down the coin.....
Considerable "chatter" about 2 of the more popular import rods..

"Most of China's 800-plus steelmakers are small fabricators who have no idea what quality is about, so there is a risk that some guy with a welding torch buys some hot-rolled coil steel and just welds it together," says Charles Bradford, president of Bradford Research, a metals consulting firm.

They have to add Melamine to Milk formula and poison kids? sneaking around and using all kinds of banned chemicals to paint kids toys for export over here? and folks think their Aluminium and Steel is top notch?

Because its machined here its ok eh? Chucks right, ask alot of questions

Ive read that something like 80% of all there metals are contaminated..
Doesn't Contamination=FAIL?

The only ones that back this crap are the ones selling it due to the 500% profit

I'll see if I can get a better pic of the rods that are in tact Mike. It still pissed me off when I found out what happened. This car has been in the works for 2 years and it will out handle almost all of them on the track. It was the third time we had it out so far and it will be a while before it goes out again now.

I picked up a set of new Eagle H beams for a TT SBC build . Now... I'm glad I paid the extra for the L19 ARP bolt upgrade . :D :)

Well I made it to the shop tonight to finish up an AC job and they were ARP bolts. If I can I'll get some pics of the rods in the next 2 days but I'm tired as heck right now. Been a long 2 weeks at work and the shop. I'm frigging tired.

we have all the same issues here in Aust too with the market place flooded with Chinese knock off performance parts..more so with the Ricer parts but im hearing lots about the Pro Comp MSD style ignitions knock offs too..I heard Eagle con rods and cranks are now made in China too?

1 example i saw was a alloy sump extension for a Nissan SR20 engine from China the casting was so poor the engine oil leaked through the sand casted sump.
I had a friend visit some factories in China recently he said it was mind blowing to see CNC machines stripped down from say Germany and people crawling all over it measuring and drafting drawings to make the same machine. He said the factories he visited where huge and had masses of lathes and mills working around the clock..

I was working in Lawrence Mass last week watching people do this with fitness equipment. They tear it down, measure and "reengineer it". Then send it to china to be built with there name and sell it for 60% less. Working there I could only think of the people who bought the walbro knock offs.

There is nothing wrong with Eagle rods when used within their designed parameters. The problem is that most of the rods on ebay are copies of Eagles sold as Eagles.

In other words Made In China rods being copied by the Chineese.Go figure:confused:
