I'm really bummed about it

I think it had a slightly blown HG for awhile, I thought the brown crud in the radiator was from the tranny cooler but its not occurred to me that it was probably from the HG.

It finally went all the way.

Anyone ever torn one of these down and fixed something like this? I had a buddy tell me to just get a new engine for it since they are so cheap from junkyards.

Its a 98 intrigue and the car is nice otherwise.

Now I'm back to daily driving the T-type which is not cool at all.
 
I would run more tests on it. Those N/A motors really don't have H/G problems. The most common problem on that year is the "plastic" intake manifolds crack around the E.G.R passages and coolant passages.
 
Thanks for the tip, i will look at that.

Reason I believed it was the HG was because it overheated and was dieseling.
