hey guys, i just put a new front mount on my car w 3'' piping and my boost wont build past 5 psi. anyone ever heard of this? i checked for leaks and all the couplings r tight. i also checked vac lines and all r connected. my car runs and drives fine. PLEASE HELP!!

the turbo is def spooling. we made sure the i/c flowed and had no leaks before we installed it. the wastegate and boost controller r hooked up just like they r supposed to be.

did you change the boost controller and wastegate along with front mount? if so i would put the stock boost setup back on and try it

i have an external wastegate with a 16lb spring and thats not opening so my boost gauge must be reading correctly. maybe hook up my wastegate to my manifold? this is mind boggling!

Take some pictures and post them up, that may help us, help you.

Put the old stuff back on and see if the problem goes away if it does then inspect the intercooler and the hoses make sure all of them are sealed no holes no edges flipped over on the bottom where you cant see it etc...

Sounds like a hose is not on right prob folded on the bottom of pipe double check everything

I would check your signal hose, maybe cracked right at the barb. Turn the regulator down on an air compressor and blow through the hoses from turbo to wastegate.

ill double check everything but i dont think its a leak, im not running super rich and my wastegate isnt opening

If the wastegate isn't opening you should have too much boost. Correct me if I am wrong here. Betting on a bad connector installation.

when i said its not opening because its hasnt read 16psi, the system only hits 5 psi then stays steady. all the clamps r tight but maybe one is on crooked.

does it feel like 5 psi? if not then maybe your boost gauge hose is kinked. because you should have at least gained 2 to 3 psi just from installing a front mount alone. recheck everything from the start

Possiably a differance in IC sizes?...at now 5 psi boost with your old unit it might compressed to 20psi to move the 16lbs spring?, but now you have larger IC ,it needs more boost to fill it an compress the spring becuase it flows to good? in short a differance in air pressures? tried turning the boost up on your controler at all,do so in small amounts

Enjoy!

wouldnt my turbo just keep building boost till the wastegate senses 16 psi? i have an atmospherical wastegate and its not opening at all. this makes no sense to me. im posting pics tom.

Not that, I went from a stock IC to the mega cooler from RJC and had more boost pressure.
