Brakes went bad all of a sudden

Hello I was leaving work yesterday to notice my car doesn't respond until the brake pedal hits the floor. Was wondering what the possible causes may be before I take it to a shop? It's like I lost 80% of my braking power, and the pedal feels like nothing but air until it hits the floor.

check the fluid level- sounds to me like a blown line somewhere.
when i got my car, the rear line was rusted away and it did just like yours just did.

check lines, and see if your rear wheel cylinders are leaking.
