My original gray door trim was beat up dented and scratched badly, I had a super nice set of door trim but it was from a regular Regal.
I know from past experience you cannot reuse the aluminum veneer after you pull it off.

I decided to try using paint stripper, and then sand the bar to get a brushed metal look.
I applied it generously with a paint brush, and used a steel wire brush to remove the paint after it had softened for about 10 minutes.
I washed each trim piece with warm water and dish soap after each strip attempt, making sure to clean the brush too.

I had to apply stripper about three times. Do not let it dry or you will need to re apply.

I tried using sand paper in various grits but it wasnt working too well. I continued to use increasing pressure using the Steel brush in one single motion from end to end --No back and forth.

And the finished product took about two hours and I'm happy with it.
The stripper says not for use on plastic but the chrome plating protects it as long as you are not missing it on areas.or have it bubbled up
