Question for anyone that can help with the design for a car hauler bed to be built on a 1.5 ton truck frame. The truck is an 81 Ford 26 foot RV that the camper portion will be removed. The top of the frame rails are about 20 inches off the ground and the rails are 40 inches apart, center to center.
My Dad is a good welder and we would like to use channel iron, tubular iron, and sheeting to finish the floor. Anyone completed a project similar to this? The trailer bed would have an upwards slope from the back to the front at the cab, in order to start at the 20" height of the frame rails and angle up to clear the dual tires.
Hoping there are some fabricators or trailer builders on the board that could point me in the right direction or even have a design that I could follow to build a similar bed on this truck frame. TIA
