bumping 1-2 shift rpm 2004r?

i want to increase my 1-2 shift point to 6000 from 5500. What steps do i have to do this?

Drop the VB and stiffen up the 1-2 shift valve spring---shim or a stiffer spring--never tried stretching the spring. Maybe someone else has a better idea. I just today cut a 1/8 in. long piece of 1/4 copper tubing to increase my sons 2-3 shift. Have not ried it yet but should be close--not an exact science.

OK i will try that, maybe 2 small washers? I need to do 2-3 also, under wide open throttle

If you want both shifts to come up you can just take some wt. off the gov.

Yes but im scared its going to effect my partial throttle shift points?

drill two 1/8 inch holes in bith sides of the outer edges of the secondary governor weight .if you change the 1/2 spring the 2/3 will still be earlier than the 1/2 .did you install the convertor yet.?

SOmething came up, and i did not have time to install the converter, and i missed my race event. I have decided to go with the cheap tranny brake, manual one, since the electric one does not offer conventional engines braking i heard.

ya i know i will try shimming the 1-2 spring first, then try the gov holes also
