The Chrysler/Fiat parent company is basking in the glory with the new Demon which now being seen by the public. I am sure later this summer among the various venues at least one if not several will be at Chryslers/ Carlisle event.

By the numbers 0-60 times in 2.3 seconds, covers the 1/4 mile in 9.65 seconds without the luxury of a passenger or rear seat. A $1 extra buys them from what I read..

Among the firsts,. the Demon is the first US production car that can lift the front wheels of the ground.....in the stock format.

One can only imagine what the insurance tab would be for say a typical 25 year old even with a clean driving history.

I think Chrysler/Fiat could do a cute commercial showing their Fiat 500 spaced out on a 1/4 mile track probably better than 3/4 quarters of the way down the strip then start the Demon and watch it over take the Fiat by the quarter mile marker.

It hits 0/60 times in 2.3 seconds the Fiat 500 does it in 9.8 Demon hits 1/4 mile 9.65 seconds against the Fiat that meanders down in a whopping 17.3 seconds.

Congrats to Chrysler/Fiat. had to be a joy for any of the workers on that project compared to the ones building the Fiats......

Dodge has built all these cool cars for decades: original Hemis, crossram Wedge cars, Max Wedge cars, Hemis/billboard graphics/AAR heritage in a Challenger, the Omni Turbo, the original SRT Viper, the SRT10 pickup, the rebirth of the Hemi, the rebirth of the 300, the SRT line of sedans and Challengers, now the Hellcat/Demon series. And still the company struggles. These "flash in the pan" moments just can't sustain the business model. In the vein of your comments above, the everyday stuff is not so awesome and they cannot retrieve their focus.

I have never been a big Dodge fan but they have always took a step out there when others wouldn't . Some of them have been a big flop and some have been just bad ass . You would think that they would ride the Hellcat out for a while till they sprung this Demon on us . Its gonna be interesting to see what GM and Ford will do to answer . I cant afford any of them so I just hang out playing with our Turbo Regals . My 2 cents Keith

The high dollar performance cars are just for advertising. Gets people into the showroom to buy the mundane stuff.
