I have a GT6152 with a .63 precision housing (low miles & doesn't spool very fast), i also have a bad stock turbo that is taken apart. Could I use the garret housing on the 6152 & get the thing to spool faster? looks like all the bolts are the same I'm just wondering if it is adaptable or if I would have to change the exhaust turbine also.

thanks for the response, would I just send in the housing or would I have to send the 6152 with it?

What converter you using? IMOP even with a stock converter that turbo should spool pretty damn well. I wouldn't go through all that trouble to switch it out. just build around that turbo. Hows the tune? what are you using to tune with?

stock convertor. tuning with scanmaster. car had a a ta49 & ran real good. the funding for the car is very low so I dont want to buy a convertor, new injectors & get a new chip , just want the damn thing to spool up quicker than it does for minimum payout.

I also have the exhaust wheel that was in the garret housing. could I use that instead of getting it machined?

Leave the turbo as is. The Garrett housing will help alot. A converter swap will help too. I would recommend both, but the exhaust housing will be cheaper.
As for chips and spool up. Turbo Tweak and Bailey Extender chips work great. I would recommend the extender chip with a translator. Both chips have great features. I would get a wideband and tune in the spool up AFR.

I already have a turbotweak chip, may need to get it exchanged. I still do not want to get into changing out the convertor yet.

You can send the Garrett housing to Limit to get it machined for the 6152 turbine wheel.

called limit & they said they couldn't machine to fit a precision turbo since they don't have the tooling.
called precision & they said it wouldn't work..

Rjc boost valve, pull some 1st gear fuel via chip, and no exhaust leaks.
