Give us some of your strangest CAR SELLING encounters:

I had guy give me $100- deposit once & never came for the car never heard from him ever.

Selling a turbo mustang to an asian dude who had a 25 step vehicle check.
Met in a parking lot & this dude looked over the car for 2.5 hours.
He did buy it.

Bought a 68 buick skylark for $75- Went to SPRING BREAK DAYTONA 1981 - Placed car in want add b4 leaving & MOM sold it for me for $450-cash

I sold my 79 911sc to a guy. He came 4 hours to pick it up. Spends over an hour looking at it and buys it. Then calls me 10 minutes after leaving asking if he can bring it back, he said he was having second thoughts.
I told him I would take it back no problem. He apperently decided to keep it because I never heard back from him.

I sold a guy an 89 grand marquis..i paid $100 bucks for it, fixed the power steering and did the brakes and drove it for a year and a half..The guy was my ex girlfriend from high schools boyfriend i sold it to him for $350 and told him drive it like its made of glass and it should be as reliable for him as it had been for me...Hes pissed at me to this day because the fuel pump went out on him 6 MONTHS after he bought it from me!!!! He had the nerve to ask for $$ back.. I told him you paid 350 bucks for a car and drove it away ....The warranty expired when i couldnt see the taillights anymore :biggrin:

I worked at SUNOCO.. Yeah for some of you guys they had STATIONS back then.

I use to buy all the cars from the customers when they called it quits on repairs & did not want to spend anymore money on them.

My standard offer was $100. A few days later they would roll in & say OK.

Best one was dude that Pronto sent up to me.
He had a 69 caprice? Impala? WAGON. It was the 396 version but he had a 327 in it. Duals, Power eveything, vette wheels.

A year later guy comes back. I miss my car he said. I added 1k more to the price & he took it back. :tongue:
