I'm trying to solve this one for my parent's 2000 Century. As the car accelerates through the gears, the transmissioin has a harsh bang or grab about a quarter way through each gear range. The transmission does not slip before or after the bang. It appears after the transmission has warmed up. When it first started a while ago, there was foam in the fluid after running. However, it doesn't foam anymore. Dealer has inspected and changed the fluid and filter twice but the problem persists.

Please help.

Thanks, Matt

Sounds like the lock-up clutch may have to much apply pressure,or its going bad altogether

Could be a bad p/c solenoid in the transmission if it is occuring on upshift. Otherwise the TCC apply should be addressed.

That convertor is pulse width modulated(PWM) that may be the solenoid that is bad,
Have you had it scanned for codes?
That may show a cause
