Thanks. Yours is very nice as well. You will see my car in person one day

We should start a new thread. call it "Show your ultra nice paint jobs". What do you think?

Naaaaaa.

But, if anyone wants to post a pic of there "ultra nice paint job" I like to see it:) . It would be nice if you also said what kind of paint it is, and any other details that might help someone looking to get nice paint done.

One more.

Did you sand the entire exterior of that car when you polished it? My boss used to get so mad at me for that...as he would mumble something about time=money. The customers loved it though, their cars were like mirrors going down the road.

Daaaaaamn, there are some nice paint jobs in this thread.

Being the absolute pic whore that I am, here are a couple of pics of my base/cleared car.

My 22 year old factory paint job looks great thanks to Mike Barnard (SPOOLFOOL2) who polished it out for me a year or so ago. Thanks Mike.
And Brent (Boost231) your car looks as straight and flawless as the last picture that I saw of it a few years back.
And Mike Barnard's car always looks flawless & beautiful, thanks to his polishing & detail skills.

Every inch of this car has been sanded with 1500 grit sand paper untill the paint looked flat under frorescent lights. Then buffed back out to a shine.

I would have to say that is one of the best looking paint jobs I have seen. Lotta prep work there.

I too can vouch for Mike's (spoolfool's) paint. It is a thing of beauty. I have a very nice paintjob myself (2 stage) but it's not even close to Mikes. Whenever I went to the Bates Nut Farm Show, I'd make sure to not park near him  - It's THAT nice...

Nice!

Best looking 86 GNX I've ever seen:D . The tires, rims, and stance of that beast is perfect. How big of tires and rims do you have stuffed under those GNX flairs? Is the frame notched?

Thanks a LOT, SPOOL! :D

The rims are 18X10s with 285/35s on them. About as wide as I could go without cutting. No notch & the suspension is stock (for now). I did have to put a couple of air bags under the rear due to some slight rubbing with a full tank of fuel.

Base & clear here.

Chosen because of the metallic.

With a solid color we may have chosen the single stage, however I am getting lazier these days and believe the upkeep may be simpler on the base/clear application if what I hear is right.
