Congrats to Chris Lyons for making what we believe to be the fastest pass ever with stock style heads. 8.28@166.36 on Drag Radials in TSO Trim. Told ya Chris. Now that 7 sec time slip does not look that far away.

Congrats to Chris, that is definitely getting it done with a stock style GN1 headed car!

I thought Lyons was running a twin turbo SBC?

Would someone clue me in?

That is excellent work Chris. That should be the fastest stock headed car to date. The older fast cars that I know of were not stock suspension and were lighter than Chris was.

Congrats Chris, that is getting it done for sure!

Thanks

Thanks guys, the car is running WAY beyond expectations and we are really getting a lot done with very little and a combo that some say shouldn’t run at all. There are many people to thank for its incredible performance, first and foremost is my crew member Ray who attends every race with me and helps work on the car in between races. Without his help the car wouldn’t leave the garage half the time. There is Tom Allen @ Champion for building me a head that now has 3 seasons and more 8 second and 160+ MPH than ANY other production style head out there.

A special thanks to Lonnie Diers who has been involved in just about every aspect of the cars build, tuning and performance. Even when “the” expert says we have junk heads and a cam that’ll "never" work Lonnie seems to really make things happen and helps find that magical combo that gets it done. After last seasons fiasco with Diamond pistons and without Lonnie’s help pin pointing the problem I would’ve been left with a pile of junk parts in my garage. Lonnie helped spec a new piston design and built a new motor combo that has really lived up to the task. Lonnie flat out wore me out about switching to a Accel Gen 7 and I can’t even begin to say how happy I am that I did. Oh yeah he builds a pretty good transmission too. We have 3 seasons on one of his TH400 spragless 210’s and it hasn’t missed a beat and I can honestly say we have abused that thing worse than any other part on the car! THANKS GUYS! Can’t wait to see what it’ll run on a cool Friday night at Cecil or Reynolds in the fall!
