Hey guys, new to this forum, even newer to Buicks. Got a question for all of you. Im in the market for a Regal with intentions of swapping in a 350/350 combo. What luck! I found an 84 with the hard part done for me. Im thinking GNX body work and the mandatory blacked out look. Among other things I want to change, Ive got to get rid of that horrid column shifter. How involved would it be to convert this to a ratchet shifter on the floor or, better yet, a true manual? Ive been poking around and havent found any definitive answers for myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not too difficult to convert to a Floor Shifter. You will need a few parts. 1 being the Trans Shift shaft bracket that connects the Column Rod linkage to the Shift Cable so your gear position Indicator & Backup lights will work without rewiring. This shows the Bracket #15>> http://perfauto.tripod.com/data/4-107.pdf
Column shift cars don't have the connector for the Cable, other parts should come with the Shifter if bought new.

And which Regals came from the factory with a floor shifter so that maybe I can save myself the trouble?
