I will throw my 2 cents in here also. I drove mine daily for about 3 years. It now has about 125,000 miles on it. I never had a big problem with it. I did have the usuall old car stuff fail. Such as master cylinder, power window motor water pump etc.
The only time it stranded me was when the ecm failed. My truck is stock so that is probably why I do not seem to have as much trouble as others.
One thing to keep in mind is that they are a pain in the a@@ to work on. The engine is crowded with turbo abs etc.
I now van pool to work so my commute is about 200 yards.
I would do it if you understand these are not "toyota drive till it stop cars."

Well sumed up. Myclone pretty much said it all as he does on the other board,very striaght foreward.Have cash and time for restoration and upkeep. As far as owning both, i do and then some. I have a gn, ty,ls1,l67...and embarking on a non gm unmentionable shorty. I would not sell mine nor plan to down size any due to any part falure .Its nice to own rare vehicles and nicer to keep them as you go along. I dont care about anyones coments or uneducated questions at the strip or shows about not knowing what im driving......i know and im happy.

I paid too much for my TY. I was in a hurry! and I wanted it before the winter. I LOVE this truck, and I don't care what anyone will say, but I bought it for the snow and foul weather. It is highly modified already, but I plan to drive it rarely in the summer and mostly during the winter. I'm not gonna push it hard, and expect it not to break down. In my research, there are tons of Tys with blown engines, so they don't take to much mods or extra boost without beefing up the bottom end.
