All right...worked out the brackets needed for the transmission thanks to y'all board members.

Questions left:

1) can I use the brackets off my bench seat for the bucket seats? Specifically my drivers power bracket.

2) can I use my column shift steering wheel with a floor shifter and just disconnect the column shifter. Replace the steering wheel later?

3) Am I just drilling holes in the floor for bolting on the floor shifter and for running the shift cable through, or are we talking larger?

Thanks!

The factory used bracket that were welded to the floor, look up gbodyparts he sells what you need. Then you can get then welded to the floor pan...or just nut and bolt it. Not sure but you maybe able to fab up your own way of attaching the stuff if you are crafty.

That's what I thought looking at some pics...wasn't sure if that bracket was welded to the pan or part of the shifter. Going to Gbody now. Thanks!

(though I am gonna take a look at making one. Shouldn't be a big deal)

if your car has a split bench the seats will bolt right in.if you have a full bench you will need to add only the inner seat brackets

I've got split bench with power drivers side right now....so that is good to hear. thx

Called Gbody and they have a repro for $30+shipping. That isn't bad, might go that route just cause it is simple. Thanks for the tip Steve.

you don't need seat brackets! you said you have a split bench RIGHT! if you have a split bench the brackets are already on the floor for the seats.you will only need the brackets for the console.call me when you get a chance and i'll try to help you out with what you need.203 213 9126

that wasn't about the seat brackets...that was for the small bracket underneath the floor shifter that attaches it to the floor of the car and holds the shifter assembly level.

I'm glad that you let me know about the seat brackets working because of that power one I have. Right now it doesn't work, but I'm gonna try to repair it and since it will work with buckets it will be worth it!

I can't see your pics right now (US Navy server blocks them) but will check them out when I get home!
