Cooling my IC with dry ice

I have a stock IC with a dutt neck. Its hotter than he!! in south Mississippi these days. I'm thinking about making a fiberglass box and filling it with dry ice at the track.The dry ice plant is 5 minutes from home and that stuff gets so cold!! Has anyone ever tried this? Would I have to adjust my boost or FP. Just an idea, but maybe it would help. Any advantages or disadvantages (if someone has done this)?

Dry ice is very cold but has a very small mass. Before you try this you may want to see how long it takes to drop 1 pound of water 10 degree so you have a base to compare, or just use a hair dryer blowing through a heat exchanger to measure temp. drop. (after you have a base on temp drop, you can check your compressor map and figure the pounds of air you are moving and your outlet temp and give you an idea of how big of an IC and box you would need) These test might save you time and money. You can hit the IC with N02 and see a better change or C02 but it has the problem of killing the engine if any gets sucked into the intake. Lots of luck.
