While you're there, match port all the oil holes to the block. Then take a rounded needle file and radius the trailing edge based on direction of crank rotation. That will help ''drag'' the oil in. Might as well use parasitic viscous drag for something. :)

I drill that oil galley out in the bearing .Again really dont know if any of it helps but added insurance.I had a big thrust problem at one time and it was all due to transmission line pressure
 
Please elaborate on that.
